We are a training facility which employs the classical art of Dressage for building a safe, harmonious and understanding relationship between horse and rider . Although Dressage (French for “training”) has become an Olympic Sport it is the basic training discipline for even the backyard horse. Dressage encourages the horse to be willing, obedient, supple (relaxed) and responsive to the lightest of the riders aides.

Using Dressage principles allows for a careful and sympathetic as well as logical, step-by-step progression from the very basic of training to the increasingly complex requests of movements in upper level Dressage Competition. More and more will asked of the horse as it becomes mentally and physically capable to respond in a relaxed and willing manner.

Horses like people are individuals and therefore mature and progress at their own pace. Each step of training will only be requested of the horse when it demonstrates acceptance and willingness to do so in a quiet manner. We never take short cuts or rush to gain results.

We prefer to start youngsters from the very beginning, however behaviour problem horses are welcomed. We use as much patience needed to achieve positive results.

The same principal is used for riders of all ages and capabilities. Whether for fun, or competition. Safety always comes first.
